Ever wondered where energy comes from, kids? It’s a big question. Well, some of it is from the sun —that giant ball of fire in the sky. Sun; We can get a great energy from it with sunlight on earth, this is very important for us. We will go over solar panels and how they work today to absorb that sun energy. This is going to be fun.
What Is Solar Power?
All of us have seen how the sun shines every day but did you know that we can use the energy of the sun and to operate our houses, schools, ad some toys. And this awesome energy is the Sun Power or Solar power. Solar power is unique in terms of being a renewable resource. it can replenish itself and will never run out. The sun will always shine down on us, and we can harness the energy using things known as Solar Panels. Isn’t that cool?
What Are Solar Panels?
If you have got a solar panel? They appear as many small blue squares meticulously aligned along the rooftops or in extensive fields. Those little squares are called photovoltaic cells. What we have here are the cells that allow us to capture this solar power, converting it into energy that can be used.
How Photovoltaic Cells Work
Now let's move on to the nitty gritty, how do these photovoltaic cells actually work. A metal known as silicon makes up these cells. The wonderful thing about silicon, though, is that it conducts electricity and can so help the electricity flow from one end of the electronic device to the other. Sunlight makes electrons in the silicon of these cells move around. This movement generates electricity, much as moving water can operate a giant water wheel.
Solar Panel Electricity Output
Now that we know how photovoltaic cells work, let is learn step by step in making electricity for our houses. Many of these photovoltaic cells hold hands to make up a 700w solar panel. They act as a group when sunlight shines on the cells to generate electricity. This electricity is manifested and transmitted to a component named an inverter. The inverter is necessary because it converts the electricity from this type (Direct current: DC) to that type (Alternating Current: AC). AC — the force that runs our homes, schools and myriad other devices we use on a daily basis.
The Good Side of Solar Power
Now that we have an idea of how solar panels by dinghui work, I will explain a little about how they are saving our environment. Going solar is an excellent way of producing energy without causing harm to our planet. Fossil fuels such as coal, oil and methane are some of the gases that produce toxins when we burn them into the air that can cause air pollution and the exacerbated greenhouse effect. This is not good for any of us, or the planet. Yet solar power is (thankfully) totally clean, and doesn't produce those damaging emissions. People are who uses the solar energy then we actually taking care of our planet.
Key Reasons Why People are Turning Towards Solar Power
In addition to it being so beneficial for the environment, solar power is actually low-cost and becoming mainstream. The 700w solar panel we install every year to generate renewable electricity become more efficient. It makes them preform better and cheaper to make. Since, there are huge demand for solar power so it is changing the nature of how energy works, and that means more consumer who can use solar power. This is very exciting news — or at least, as exciting as good news about our planet can get.
